What to Wear After a Mastectomy: Soft, Easy Knitwear That Feels Good
Every now and then, a message comes in that really stays with me.
Recently, a customer wrote to say she’d had a mastectomy, and that one of our asymmetric jumpers had been one of the few things she felt able — and comfortable — to wear afterwards.
She said it was soft, easy to put on… but more than that, it helped her feel like herself again.
I’ve thought about that a lot since.
Gentle, in every sense
After something like surgery, even getting dressed can feel different.
You don’t want anything restrictive.
You don’t want anything that draws attention in the wrong way.
You just want something that feels soft, easy, and reassuring to wear.
That’s exactly what these jumpers are — not by design for this purpose, but simply in how they are made:
- soft on the skin
- relaxed without feeling shapeless
- easy to slip on without effort
Nothing to fight with. Nothing to adjust all day.
Feeling like yourself again
What she said that stayed with me most was this:
it gave her a shape she felt comfortable in again
And I think that’s the part people don’t always talk about.
It’s not about hiding your body.
It’s about finding pieces that work with you, as things change.
The asymmetric shape naturally drapes across the body, rather than clinging to one area. It creates a soft, flattering line without feeling forced or structured.
Sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed.
Not just for one reason
Of course, most people choose these jumpers simply because they’re easy to wear and feel good on.
But it’s a quiet reminder that clothing can mean more than that.
If something helps you feel even slightly more comfortable, or more like yourself again — that matters.
If this resonates with you
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, going through changes in your body, or just want something that feels gentle and easy to wear…
This is why so many customers come back for another one.
Because when something feels right, you notice it.
If you ever want to ask about fit or fabric, or just need a bit of guidance, you can always message me.
